How do you replace the cabin air filter on a 2017 Ford F-150?

 
Step 1: Gather Necessary Tools
 

• New cabin air filter
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Flathead screwdriver (optional)
• Work gloves (optional)

 
Step 2: Locate the Cabin Air Filter Compartment
 

• The cabin air filter is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side.

 
Step 3: Empty the Glove Compartment
 

• Open the glove compartment and remove any items inside it.

 
Step 4: Remove the Glove Compartment
 

• Gently press in on both sides of the glove compartment to release the stops and allow the glove compartment to drop down.
• Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the glove compartment to the dashboard.

 
Step 5: Access the Cabin Air Filter Cover
 

• Once the glove compartment is removed, you will see a rectangular cover behind it.
• This cover is the cabin air filter compartment cover.

 
Step 6: Remove the Cabin Air Filter Cover
 

• Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the cover in place (if any).
• Gently pry off the cover using a flathead screwdriver if necessary.

 
Step 7: Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
 

• Carefully slide out the old cabin air filter from the compartment.
• Take note of the direction of the airflow indicated on the old filter.

• Insert the new cabin air filter into the compartment, aligning it according to the airflow direction marked on the filter.

 
Step 9: Replace the Cabin Air Filter Cover

• Lift the glove compartment back into position and reattach it by securing the screws you removed earlier.
• Press in on the sides of the glove compartment to engage the stops and close the glove compartment.
