Step 1: Gather Supplies

• Replacement cabin air filter for a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500
• Philips head screwdriver (if needed)
• Soft cloth or vacuum cleaner (optional for cleaning out compartment)

Step 2: Locate the Cabin Air Filter Compartment

• Open the passenger side door of your GMC Sierra 1500.
• Locate the glove box. The cabin air filter compartment is located behind it.

Step 3: Remove Glove Box

• Open the glove box completely by pulling the handle.
• Remove the contents of the glove box to avoid any items falling out during the process.
• Disconnect the glove box dampener by unhooking the arm on the right side.

Step 7: Reassemble the Glove Box

• Replace the cabin air filter cover and secure it with screws if they were removed.
• Lift the glove box back into place and press the sides to snap the stoppers back into their slots.
• Reconnect the dampening arm on the right side.

• Close the glove box and replace any items that were removed.
• Test the air conditioning system to ensure that air is flowing correctly through the new filter.
